Introducing For Families Group Europe (FFGE)

A New European Alliance Advocating for Families on the International Stage
We are proud to announce the official launch of For Families Group Europe (FFGE) – a new international initiative presented at the 69th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations in New York.

FFGE brings together European civil society organizations in consultative status with the UN ECOSOC, uniting their efforts to advocate for and support families across the continent and beyond.

A Mission Rooted in Family Empowerment
FFGE was founded with the goal of promoting cooperation on family-related issues and fostering initiatives that support: positive and nurturing parenting, parental support programs, early childhood development, work-life balance, social inclusion and mental well-being. This collaborative effort is coordinated by two leading organizations:
The Parents’ House Public Benefit Foundation (Hungary), and The Hemmaföräldrars Riksorganisation (HARO) – the National Association for Stay-at-Home Parents (Sweden)

A Strong Foundation for the Future
At the FFGE launch event, Madeleine Wallin, Secretary General of HARO, emphasized:
“The family is the cornerstone of society. Recognizing parental roles—especially motherhood and fatherhood—is essential for the healthy development of children. Our aim at FFGE is to ensure that the family is not seen as a source of oppression or vulnerability, but as a space built on equality and support.”
The event also featured the Hungarian Parents’ House Program, which for nearly two decades has provided sustainable solutions in childcare, parental guidance, and community collaboration. The program has received international recognition and is active not only in Europe but also in Africa and the United States.

The Future of Family Policy in Europe
FFGE aims to collect and share best practices in family support across Europe—helping ensure family stability and resilience in a changing world. The organization places particular emphasis on non-partisan, community-based civil cooperation, including accessible mental health and social services for families.
As Judit Regős, President of the Parents’ House Foundation, noted:
“Europe has always led the way in advancing social equality. Our region’s rich cultural heritage—from ancient Greek democracy and Roman legal principles to modern multiculturalism—has shaped a social ethos that promotes equality and access to opportunity.”
An Open Invitation to Collaborate
FFGE is open to European civil society organizations with UN ECOSOC consultative status who share our mission to advocate for families on the international level. Because every life matters—and every family deserves support.
